Synopsis: The story of “Tian’anmen” revolves around actual events in the months following the end of the Liberation War in 1949. At that time, the Gate of Heavenly Peace at the entrance of the Forbidden City in Beijing required an extensive facelift. The film follows a group of army engineers and designers who were instrumental in preparing the centuries-old tower structure for the grand ceremony on October the first.
